With over 50 years of collective leadership experience across both the humanitarian and private sectors, our consultants have managed complex operations and diverse teams in countries including Zambia, Uganda, Lesotho, Malawi, India, South Africa, Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras — and have worked in or visited over 40 additional countries worldwide. Laura

Global Health Consultant | Medical Doctor | Humanitarian Strategist

Born in Barcelona, Spain, Laura has dedicated her life to transforming healthcare delivery in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities. With a deep-rooted passion for nonprofit medicine, she began her journey in healthcare as a nurse and quickly expanded her expertise by volunteering with an NGO in Nepal. Inspired by her experiences, she pursued and earned her medical degree, laying the foundation for a career defined by solidarity, impact, and medical ethics.

Always driven to deepen her knowledge and amplify her impact, Laura holds a Diploma in International Relations and a Master’s in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.

Her humanitarian medical career began in 2007 with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), where she worked for over 17 years across three continents. She advanced from Medical Doctor, then to Project, Country and eventually Regional Medical Coordinator, leading complex operations in high-stakes environments. Her approach is deeply person-centered, always prioritizing the voices and needs of those receiving care.

Laura’s extensive experience spans:

  • Operational strategy & emergency response
  • Program design, evaluation & organizational learning
  • HIV/TB, maternal and child health (including Sexual and Gender Based Violence), chronic care, migration and community models of care.
  • Staff mentorship & training and development
  • Organizational leadership &Technical advisory & cross-cultural coordination

Today, Laura is based in Córdoba, Spain, where she continues to bring her expertise to global humanitarian organizations. She serves as HIV expert and HIV Focal Point for the Global Fund’s Technical Review Panel, provides technical mentoring for medical humanitarian’s workers and offers freelance consulting services to NGOs and health-focused agencies worldwide. 

Outside of work, Laura finds joy in the simple things: being surrounded by nature and spending time with her beloved dogs and family. This balance keeps her grounded, energized, and ready to take on the complex challenges of humanitarian healthcare.

Rodd

Humanitarian Strategy Consultant | Program & Operations Expert | Change Management Facilitator

Raised in the northeastern United States, Rodd grew up with a love for sports, nature, and exploring the world—a spirit of curiosity that continues to shape his work today. With a degree in Economics and a specialization in Environmental Economics, he began his career grounded in systems thinking and sustainability.

After extensive travel and a permanent move to Spain, Rodd deepened his education with a Master’s in Marine and Coastal Resource Management, followed by an MBA from ESADE Business School—equipping him with a unique blend of environmental insight and business acumen.

His professional journey took a decisive turn in 2008 when he joined Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in Administration and Finance. Over the following years, he grew into leadership roles across multiple countries and contexts, serving as Project Coordinator, Country Coordinator, and Regional Coordinator. Rodd’s management philosophy evolved through experience—shaped by principles of empowering all, maximizing collaboration, and a drive to challenge the status quo.

With over 15 years in humanitarian operations, Rodd brings:

  • Agile project management & change facilitation

  • Team-building across diverse, multicultural teams

  • Operational leadership in complex and high-pressure environments

  • Capacity-building, coaching & organizational transformation

He’s a certified Change Management Practitioner and holds credentials from PMI in Agile Project Management.

Now based in Córdoba, Spain, Rodd works full time as a freelance consultant, advising international humanitarian organizations on operational strategy, leadership development, and adaptive management. His approach is hands-on, values-driven, and always tailored to the unique challenges of each mission. He also has been a board member of MSF Mexico and Central America for three years.

When he’s not consulting, you’ll find him tending to his vegetable garden or caring for his small olive farm—nurturing growth in every sense of the word.
